The G P Birla scholarship is an initiative by the G P Birla Educational Foundation to support meritorious students from West Bengal who need financial assistance to pursue undergraduate studies at recognized University/Institution in India.
- Students must be domiciled from West Bengal.
- Students must have passed Class XII in 2024.
- Minimum marks required: 85% in WBCHSE or 90% in ISC/CBSE.
- Family income must not exceed ₹3,00,000 per year. Exceptionally meritorious students may get an income relaxation at the Trustees’ discretion.
- Must be enrolling in an undergraduate degree at a recognized institution in India.
- Tuition and hostel fees (where applicable) subject to ceiling of ₹50,000 per year.
- A one-time ₹7,000 grant for books in the first year.
For pursuing Under Graduate degree course in any stream including Science, Commerce, Arts, Engineering, Medicine, Architecture, Law or professional courses such as Chartered Accountancy, Company Secretaryship and Cost Accountancy if pursued along with Under Graduation degree Course, in any recognized University/Institution in India.
The scholarship is awarded annually and can be renewed each year based on satisfactory academic performance, for up to four years for Undergraduate course. Its not extended for for Post Graduate degree course

The Selection Committee including Prof. Sumanta Basu from IIM Kolkata and Dr. Rajib Das from Jadavpur University conducts interviews, and makes the final selection.
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview and after due interview process, final results of selected candidates will be published on the website.
It primarily covers tuition and hostel fees, along with a one-time book grant. Other expenses are not covered unless approved by the Trustees.
In some cases, the income requirement for students with outstanding academic achievements may be relaxed at the discretion of the Trustees.
The scholarship amount is transferred via cheque or bank transfer to Student’s Bank Account.
No, the scholarship is only for students entering the first year of their undergraduate studies.
Students may receive college fee waivers or monetary prizes from Government but should not apply/avail for any other scholarship, if availing scholarship from G P Birla Educational Foundation.
